OHS System Implementation

All enterprises are required by law to have formalized Occupational Health and Safety systems in place. Every activity for every workstation must be analysed, workshopped with employees performing such duties, safe work procedures determined and formalized. In addition to all production activities being assessed, OHS representatives must be elected, regular meetings be held, records kept, and investigations of injuries/deaths done. There are also a number of administrative and managerial actions that must be seen to. The size and scope of an enterprise will affect the time it takes to implement a complete OHS system but it is a time-consuming and relatively expensive endeavor.
